Never heard of Poco prior to purchase, but do like the Country Rock sound, such as by the likes of the Eagles & Pure Prairie League. The two albums on this SACD are excellent, with standout tracks such as Sagebrush Serenade, Whatever Happened To Your Smile, & Rocky Mountain Breakdown of instant appeal, other tracks have sufficient depth to grow on you. The quadrophonic mix is stunning, certainly audiophile quality, crisp and precise location of instrumentals and vocals. A great SACD to demo quadraphonic to friends etc. The SACD Stereo mix is also most commendable, with vivid ambience, sounding precise; and being a stereo version has a different take on the balance of vocals and instruments. Thoroughly recommend this SACD.

QuadraphonicQuadforum.com has been abuzz all month concerning Michael Dutton's astounding QUAD SACD remaster [two~fer] of Poco's Cantamos and Seven. I literally have thousands of surround discs in my collection across all genres but when I placed this SACD into my player, I was hardly prepared for the state of the art surround extravaganza which emanated from the four corners [and beyond] of my listening room. Not only is the musicianship sterling but the clarity of each instrument and Poco's gorgeous harmonies will literally take your breath away. Can we have Poco's "Crazy Eyes" next [please]. The DTS 5.1 version hardly does it justice.

Well I have to say that every SACD I have got from Dutton Vocallion has been fantastic. But this release from Poco takes it to another level. The quality of the songs, especially Cantamos it outstanding. Add in amazing fidelity and a quad mix that is truly phenomenal. It really showcases what the medium can offer. This SACD is a must have!

Absolutely amazing disc! I've had the "Seven" album on an old quad LP for years and loved it, but due to it's relative obscurity I never thought it would be reissued on SACD, so a big thank you to Mr. Dutton!

The old quad mix is nothing short of breathtaking, with incredible directionality and clarity that will astonish any listener.

Columbia and their subsidiary labels issued nearly 400 quad albums from 1972-77, and because they insisted on using a decodable matrix format, they usually have a "four corner" soundstage with highly directional instrument placement. These new SACD reissues show what the old vinyl pressings only hinted at.

Many of these amazing old mixes have been reissued by Audio Fidelity, Rhino, Sony Japan, and now D-V, and I hope this trend will continue.
