Great Sounding Brass Instrumentation SACD

Another great sounding SACD instrumental album twofer from Dutton Vocalion, complete with their usual comprehensive booklet. Quadrophonic mix is decent, with good spread of instrumentation front and back; stereo mix is competent. Music wise predominantly brassy TV/Film themes that were in vogue in the 1970s. Highlights include a novel take on Tubular Bells; animal sound effects on Gold, voiceovers on Cops & Robbers, and a pleasant mellow version of the love theme from Towering Inferno. My personal stand out track is a most enjoyable instrumental of Beyond Tomorrow, atmospheric sounding with enchanting percussion and vivid brass.
Makes 4 channels come alive

I have a few 4 channel cds but this one really makes use of the rear channel speakers to give that amazing 4 channel surround effect. Good music too. Please more releases from Ray Davies and The Button Down Brass. Also how about the Vocalion treatment for albums from the orchestras of Alan Tew, Kai Warner and Ken Woodman please
