A nice twofer of light orchestral music by Percy Faith (of Summer Place fame). With an imaginative artwork combination of the two albums on the SACD cover, albeit inner booklet has a double page photograph of Percy Faith rather than the usual detailed notes provided by Dutton Vocalion. Excellent sound quality especially in multi-Channel. The quad mix is most immersive with instruments surrounding as if you're in the centre of the orchestra, with a fair variety of instrumentation from the rear channels including bass and percussion.
The SACD and CD layers are competent sounding stereo mixes, but the multichannel is where the sound really shines. Music wise, some great performances of the evergreen Serpico, Eres Tu, and Stranger on The Shore - the latter being a brilliant haunting string take of the Acker Bilk classic. Also special mention to the unusual percussion on The Pelican Dance track, and overall fair variety of music arrangements on the two albums.
