The main item here, the Lascaux Symphony, is a premiere recording. With a substantial piano part and strong contrasting sections of lyrical and muscular writing, it's certainly gripping. Brief Notes, Gramophone, February 2013 This is an important release that deserves wide circulation. Calum MacDonald, International Record Review, February 2013 It's not surprising that a colorist of Martin Yates's quality would choose to perform this music, or to bring into the spotlight an undeservedly little-known British composer. ... the Dorian Passacaglia and Fugue is worth the price alone, in my opinion. Recommended. Barry Brenesal, Fanfare, May/June 2013
