A brilliant compilation of light instrumental music by the legendary Henry Mancini. Comprising of 4 albums spread across two Multi Channel SACD plus an impressively re-mastered into stereo/surround (by Michael J Dutton) single track of 'Man of The World'. Both in stereo and quadrophonic the sound is the usual Dutton Vocalion exquisite quality.

The Best of Mancini volumes 1 & 2 contains most of his well-known works, with varying quad effects encompassing ambient to immersive. The second disk contains a delightful set of medley type suites forming 'The Concert Sound' album. For quad spatial delights the 'Salutes Sousa' march band music unexpectedly fits the bill, with drums emanating from every corner, and spectacular sound effects on ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever’.

Overall a great double SACD for admirers of Henry Mancini and light orchestral music.
